Help With Hallmarks App - Cracking The Code. Easily work out the age of a piece of silverware or jewellery.

The Help with Hallmarks App is easy to use and contains a comprehensive database of UK Assay Offices, date letters (from 1544), fineness and duty and commemorative marks.

The Help with Hallmarks APP gives an indication of the date of a piece and is intended as a guide only. Accuracy will depend upon the correct identification of the separate elements that make up a hallmark by the user and those symbols being entered correctly into the APP.

Select chosen Assay Office Town from list provided. Once Assay Office Town has been selected enter Date Letter(s) by taping the Readable Date Letters button which will bring up the keyboard to type in the required letters. Tap Duty/Commemorative Mark button if applicable and select from list shown by tapping on appropriate Mark.

Once all selections have been made press Search and a list of hallmarks and dates will be shown which you can then use to evaluate any hallmarks that you are searching for.

The Help with Hallmarks App is ideal for collectors, those with an interest in jewellery and silverware, retailers, pawnbrokers, jewellery valuers, assessors and insurers as well as the wider jewellery industry and the general public.
